Here’s our standard issue Boston chest of drawers, with 4 equal-sized drawers arranged vertically. Each drawer has 2 antique-effect handles, the drop-pull type, which are made from metal. The drawers are held together with screwed joints and are solid pine all around, except the bases which are plywood.
The chest itself uses framed plywood for the sides, top and back, which gives it a lot of strength whilst still looking like the “real thing”. It’s finished in a dark, shiny lacquer, making it easy to keep clean and looking its best for years to come.
One person should be able to build this in under an hour, using mostly a medium-sized starhead screwdriver, and a hammer for the tacks holding the back panel.
90 cm wide, 40 cm deep, 95 cm high.
